English by default, with an optional translation picker
Direct answer
ViralRefer loads in English. A translation picker in the header is opt-in, and your browser language does not switch the site for you. The official rules stay in English. You can switch to any of 26 languages from the header, and switch back to English the same way.
How does the language picker work?
- The first visit loads English.
- You can pick another language from the header picker if you want.
- Your choice is saved in this browser only after you pick it.
- A ?lang= link, like ?lang=es, opens a specific language directly.
The public interface is translated into 26 locales, including Spanish, French, Portuguese, German, Hindi, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Russian, Indonesian, Turkish and Swahili. Arabic and Urdu display right to left.
Why is browser language not used?
An older build switched languages automatically from the browser setting. That caused confusion: people sharing a link saw a different language than the friend who opened it, and some readers landed on a translation they did not ask for. Now English is the default and translation is a choice. This also means everyone sees the same contest wording unless they choose otherwise.
How do I switch back to English?
- Open the language picker in the header and choose English.
- If a tab still shows another language, the saved choice is in this browser's storage. Choosing English replaces it.
- If you opened a link with ?lang= in it, remove that part of the URL.
What stays in English?
The official rules, privacy policy and terms are English. Translations of the public interface are a convenience, and if a translation and the English rules ever disagree, the English rules apply. Owner HQ also stays English.
The contest itself is the same in every language: get a link, send it, and you climb when a friend taps Get my link. That rule is covered in when a referral counts.
How do I share with friends who speak another language?
You can send a friend a link with ?lang= for their language so the page opens translated for them. Your referral credit works the same way in every language. Write your message in the language you actually use with that person. A short, honest note works better than a translated slogan. See share without looking like spam for examples.
How good are the translations?
Interface translations aim to be clear rather than literal. If you spot a phrase that reads wrong in your language, switching to English will always show the original wording. The key rules use the same short terms in every language: Get my link, Site Drops, and the weekly board.
Search engines find the language versions through hreflang tags on the homepage, not through separate sitemap entries, so every language points back to the same page.
If you share ViralRefer in a community that mostly speaks one language, it is fine to tell readers they can switch languages from the header. Do not promise a full translation of every page, though. Guides and rules are written in English, and only the main interface is translated.
FAQ
Why did I see Spanish before?
An older build followed the browser language. That is fixed. Choose English in the picker to clear the saved choice.
Are the official rules translated?
No. The rules are in English. Interface translations are a convenience, not a different product.
Does language affect my referral credit?
No. A friend's Get my link tap counts the same in every language.
How many languages are available?
The public interface supports 26 locales.
